Cookie Sale Program

The Cookie Sale Program simply could not happen without the help and commitment from girls’ families! Every hour a girl spends at a cookie booth or delivering cookies, an adult is by her side giving his or her time and effort “toward the cause,” and for that we are truly grateful!

How Does a Girl Benefit from participating in the Cookie Sale Program?

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is one of the leading entrepreneurial training programs for girls in the world. Girls learn a myriad of life skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. In fact, many accomplished women were Girl Scouts and attribute their success to the life lessons they learned as a Girl Scout.

  • The importance of having goals
  • How to set and meet goals
  • How to meet deadlines and manage their time
  • How to provide excellent customer service
  • Teamwork
  • Money management
  • Budgeting
  • How to communicate effectively
  • Integrity
  • Responsibility
  • How to be confident

Additionally, girls receive patches and may also receive other incentives and recognitions based on the number of boxes sold. Girls wo sell 400 boxes or more can earn Cookie Dough -- which can be used to help pay for resident summer camp at Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, Camp Pretty Pond, and/or Camp Hardee, purchases at the council shops, Girl Scout day camps, purchases at camp trading posts, council events, Girl Scouts USA destinations, and guest admission to the Superstar Party.

The 2008 Cookie Gram (Family Cookie Sale Reference Guide) will be available for download this fall and will be given to girls at cookie sale training in November or December.
