Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is proud to have been selected as one of 11 councils nationwide--and one of only two councils selected to return from the first round of uniquely ME! (2002-2005)--to continue providing uniquely ME! The Girl Scout/Dove Self-Esteem Program for three more years, 2005-2008. For more information about Dove, our corporate partner, visit http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com.

Uniquely ME! The Girl Scout/Dove Self-Esteem Program is committed to helping girls reach their full potential by addressing the physical, intellectual, and emotional aspects of self-esteem. Uniquely ME! provides fun and engaging activities for girls who are not members of a traditional Girl Scout troop in Cumberland, Hoke, Johnston, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland counties. Meetings are held weekly during the school year, and girls are able to experience new adventures, make new friends, and share challenges in an environment that is both fun and safe.

Designed for girls ages 8-17, uniquely ME! The Girl Scout/Dove Self-Esteem Program strives to help girls recognize and embrace their unique talents, strengths, and abilities. Research has shown that between the elementary and middle school years, girls suffer a disproportionate drop in self-esteem, putting them at increased risk of drug use, teen pregnancy, and eating disorders. By gaining a greater understanding of themselves, girls are able to better prepare for the future, which is where the uniquely ME! The Girl Scout/Dove Self-Esteem Program comes in.

Girls participating in uniquely ME! have the opportunity to experience new adventures, make new friends, attend council-wide and exclusive uniquely ME! events, visit college campuses, complete community service projects, and much more!

Be a Mentor...Volunteer!
The uniquely ME! program is seeking adult volunteers aged 18 and up to contribute in a variety of ways in Cumberland, Hoke, Johnston, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland counties. Speak about your interests, experiences, or career. Teach a specific skill or hobby. Share your cultural heritage. Serve as a mentor. Be a community service project advisor. Or, create your own volunteer opportunity. Have fun and make a difference in the life of a girl!

If you're interested in volunteering with the uniquely ME! progam, please call 1-888-374-9900, extension 29 or email mtrombleyrsmithat nc coastal pines dot org.
